According To Who?

In life, we are thrown some curve balls; unexpected challenges that test our strength to persevere. In the midst of those challenges, it can be assumed that we have all been told by someone that “it’ll be ok.” or “you’ll be ok.”, but what does being ok really mean to you? To whom’s definition are you ok, and how do you really know? The answer can be found within yourself and varies from person to person. The definition of being ok is feeling alright, fine, or being in a state of contentment. So, what may feel like being ok to someone, may not be to another person.
Whether you may be feeling like things will be ok or not, it is important to experience those feelings, and not to pretend they aren’t there for the sake of others. Whether we choose to release or keep them inside, those feelings are there, and ignoring them does not cause them to go away, but fester inside of us. Remember, we hold the key to our feelings, and we choose how we will react. If you are feeling down or frustrated, keep believing in yourself because you hold the light to your darkness. I’m going to end by reciting the lyrics from the song, “You’ll Be Ok” by A Great Big World.
You’ll be okay
You’ll be okay
The sun will rise
To better days
And change will come
It’s on it’s way
Just close your eyes
And let it rain
‘Cause you’re never alone
And I will always be there
You just carry on
You will understand
You’ll be okay
You’ll be okay
Just look inside
You know the way
Let it go
Fly away
And say goodbye
To yesterday
