Turning Your Frown Upside Down!

In 2012, the United Nations declared March 20th as International Day of Happiness. With words of sincerity, Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stated, “I wish everyone around the world a very Happy International Day of Happiness! The pursuit of happiness is serious business. Happiness for the entire human family is one of the main goals of the United Nations.” It is no secret that happiness can boost a person’s quality of life and help maintain meaningful relationships. It is an emotion that many people are in constant search of, yet, are unable to find.
In fact, throughout the years, many researchers have sought out to find the key to unlocking long lasting happiness. So, how can we attain happiness? The answer is to look inside yourself. Happiness is a choice that we make. What we put into life, is what we get back. If you do not like yourself, then there are chances, that same perception about the world, will be adopted as well. Life can be hard, but adopting the mentality of yourself being a champion who will prosper, then as an automatic reflex, happiness will start bursting within you. Take the first step towards happiness by just trying to be happy. This involves having positive self talk, like, “I am a good person.” Also, surround yourself with happy people because positivity will rub off on you. If you do this, then you will begin to move towards positive change.
One last thing, in honor of International Day of Happiness, the United Nations is asking people to tweet their favorite song that makes them happy with the hashtag #HappySoundsLike.
